Brad Penny is Terrible

This game was over before it started. Brad Penny hopefully just made his last start as a member of the Boston Red Sox. Penny was torched for eight earned runs and ten hits in four innings. Michael Bowden, recalled yesterday to have an extra arm in the pen, relieved Penny and proceeded to give up seven more runs and eight hits in two innings.

Wakefield pitched well last night for the PawSox and will start in Penny's spot on Wednesday; Penny is more than likely going to be shown the door. Bowden was sent down after the game, and Enrique Gonzalez was recalled; Gonzalez threw 1 2/3 innings on August 8th against the Yanks when the Sox needed an arm.

The Sox need a quality start from Tazawa today, and they need to the Yankees bats to cool down. After Tampa beat Texas last night, we are still a game ahead of the Rangers, and three ahead of the Rays.
