Verlander Dominates the Sox

Not much to say about today. Tigers right-hander Justin Verlander was the story and made every hitter (except for Victor Martinez) look silly. Consistently throwing 97 and topping out at 100 MPH, Verlander through 8 shutout innings fanning eight. Papi looked terrible again today going 0-4 with three Ks. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt going against a stud, but he needs to start hitting. Soon.

Buchholz was the lone bright spot today, as he continues to improve. Clay threw seven innings while only giving up one earned run. I would like to see his walks (three today) decrease with his strikeouts (three today) increase. In a post-game interview Buchholz referenced his continued improvement in his two-seam fastball as improving.

All in all, Sox win the series 3-1. That's pretty good especially facing Jackson and Verlander during the four-game span.
