Wakefield was barely able to finish 5 innings, leaving with an 8-5 lead after giving up a three run homer to Mike Jacobs. It seemed Tito tried to leave him in long enough to qualify for the win, normally this is a bad decision. Delcarmen replaced Wake going just 0.2 innings before being bailed out by Bard to finish the sixth, but not before giving up a walk, three hits, and four runs. Bard took the loss because he allowed two runs on two hits, but to his defense he was brought into a tough situation thanks to MDC. Boston couldn't muster much offense after DiNardo left, finishing with just one run in four innings against Yabuta, Wright, and Soria who got the save.
Paul Byrd is on the mound tonight against Zack Greinke... the series sweep isn't looking to good.
