Red Sox Notes

-Michael Bowden will start tonight versus the Jays, as Josh Beckett was scratched due to back spasms. Hopefully the back is OK, and this will give Beckett the rest that he had previously requested heading into the playoffs. Tonight's lineup:

Ellsbury, CF
Pedroia, 2B
Martinez, C
Youkilis, 3B
Ortiz, DH
Bay, LF
Drew, RF
Kotchman, 1B
Gonzalez, SS

-Mike Lowell received an injection in his hip today. This is the second one he has had this season to held subside pain in the area. He will sit for a couple of days and get a few more at-bats before the postseason.

-Jon Lester was able to throw his side-session today in between starts. There was some concern after he was hit in the ankle against the Yankees, but it does not appear to be a lingering problem.

Also, please look for a recap of the Patriots game tomorrow.
