Baby Injured, Rondo Resigning? Plus Sox News
CELTICS
Big Baby Davis will be out 6-8 weeks after undergoing surgery on a broken hand. He reportedly got into an "altercation" with a former college teammate Sunday night. Rasheed Wallace will get extra run with Shelden Williams and Brian Scalibrine (when healthy) seeing some time.
In better news for the Celtics and its fan-base, the team is meeting with Rajon Rondo's agent tonight. Rondo is scheduled to become a restricted free agent after the season so feasibly the C's have the ability to match any offer. Locking up Rondo is very important, the team does not want to bid against another team for the point guard's services. October 31st is the deadline for the two parties to reach a deal.
RED SOX
Jed Hoyer, the Red Sox Senior Vice President/Assistant General Manager, will be leaving the team after he officially accepted the Padres' offer today to become GM. Hoyer was an integral part of the Sox scouting department. Theo Epstien has surrounded himself with a great core in the front office, and losing Hoyer undoubtably hurts. The other Assistant GM Ben Cherrington's expertise lies in player development, team consultant Bill Lajoie has been in baseball for nearly 30 years.

Could this mean Jed doing his old team a favor by working out a deal for Adrian Gonzalez...
