Marc Savard, the Bruins leading scorer with seven points in seven games was placed on long-term injured reserve with a broken left foot Wednesday morning.
Losing Savard is a major loss to a B's team already trying to adapt to life without Milan Lucic. Savard, the leading scorer on the Bruins for the last three seasons finished last year with 25 goals and 63 assists in all 82 games.......his presence will be missed.
The B's called up Trent Whitfield from AHL Providence in the meantime. Whitfield has NHL expeirience playing in 177 NHL games with the Caps, Rangers, and Blues but is not a long term solution.
The Bruins (3-4) have had a tough start to the season.
Frank was here ....YEEEE
ReplyDeleteHuge loss...playmaker, leader, and exciting player. Makes you want to have the likes of Kessel and Kobasew slill in black and gold. Where do they go from here with new faces coming in between pailles??? and the call ups? Are we even close to the team we were last year?
