Bruins Skate By Panthers

Marco was the difference tonight.

The Bruins played yet another gritty, grind-it-out style of game tonight and came out on top by a score of 2-1 over the Florida Panthers. Boston got a lift in the third period when veteran Marco Sturm put home his 11th goal of the season for the team.

After falling behind in the first period 1-0 on a score from Dominic Moore, the B's tied up the game in the second when Michael Ryder was able to redirect the puck and find the back of the net for his 10th score of the season. The puck was originally shot by defenseman Andrew Ference but Ryder was able to deflect it and take advantage of the screened Florida goaltender.

Tim Thomas got the start between the pipes tonight and took advantage, 25 of 26 total shots in the victory. He continues to get the nod over Tuukka Rask since returning from injuries when they are not play back-to-back games.

This was Boston's third straight win and the 19-11-7 Bruins play tomorrow night at Tampa Bay. Puck Drop: 7:30 PM.
