Celtics Keep Rolling

The Celtics held off the Wizards last night to improve to a conference best 18-4. The team continues to play well on the road, now 10-1. The C's let the Wizards stick around last night but they would eventually pull away on the back of Rajon Rondo to take down a pesky Wizards squad.
  • Rondo's jump shot was reliable all night in a scoring splurge against the Bucks Tuesday. He scored 21 points (10-20 shooting) and added 11 assists (1 turnover). Whether if it was his short jumper, or his trademark fake behind the back, Rondo was finding ways to score against a weak defensive squad.
  • Ray Allen became the 32nd player in NBA history to eclipse the 20,000 point plateau. He did so on a 3-point basket in the 3rd quarter. Ray Ray finished with 18 points (5-11 FGs, 2-6 3PTs, 6-6 FTs), 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. Amazingly but not surprisingly Allen has hit 65 of 69 free throws on the season, good for a 94.2% mark.
  • Perkins (16 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks), Pierce (12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals), and Garnett (17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block) all helped the Celtics solid starting five that continues to be a balanced attack.
  • With Marquis Daniels out of action for the next 6-8 weeks with a thumb injury, it is Tony Allen's time to shine. After a rusty return to the floor on Tuesday night, TA was a pivotal cog off the Celtics bench. A team high +14 when on the floor, Allen hit 4 of his 5 field goal attempts to lead the bench with 8 points.

The road warriors head to Chicago to face a struggling Bulls team that has lost 8 of their last 9 games. The C's have the night off tonight, but the Bulls play the Warriors which gives the C's an advantage heading into tomorrow night's 8 o'clock game.
