Celtics Lose at Home to Chicago

In what was their fourth game in five nights, the Celtics looked very slow tonight losing to the Bulls by a score of 96-83. Obviously, you cannot expect to win an NBA game when scoring a measly 83 points. Both teams shot 45% from the floor, but the difference was in the C's inefficiencies from downtown (4-17) and from the line (15-28).
  • Our catalyst Rajon Rondo played nearly 42 mintutes, but wasn't close to his explosive self against second year phenom Derrick Rose. He had 15 points, but turned the ball over 5 times compared to 7 asssists.

  • Paul Pierce scored a quiet 20 points and he was only 6-18 from the field.

  • Ray Allen continues his quiet campaign and had 8 points.

  • Perkins did his best down low with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

  • Brian Scalabrine has been doing his best to fill in with our big men down, but the C's are asking too much. Scal had 7 points (1-5 from three), but just 3 boards and 5 fouls in 20 minutes.

  • Eddie House chipped in an efficient 11 points off of the bench, but the second unit has been weak in general with all of the injuries.
It's been a disappointing stretch for the C's, who are now 27-11, as they have lost three out of the last five. The absence of Kevin Garnett is really starting to settle in, as the Celtics do not have any game in the post. Doc Rivers said tonight that he could be back as early as next Friday, but with their cautiousness, I wouldn't buy into it. However, Rasheed Wallace could be back Monday versus the Mavericks, and the team could use him

  1. I was at the game last night and the energy level on the team just wasn't there. Derrick Rose looked quicker than Rondo and Deng used his wingspan to bury jumpers and stuff Pierce all night. We need KG back ASAP to spark some new life and energy.

What's the deal with Sheed's "sore foot" what does that even mean?

  2. Many times, athletes, especially basketball players, develop sore feet due to their (usually large) foot being overworked. What happens is that the arch in the foot continues to become stretched with increase usage and can lead to plantar fascilitis as can be seen currently with both Tony Parker and Ron Artest. The C's figure that by resting both now, they will have them when the games really begin to count.
