Bruins Lose 9th Straight And Kovalchuk

The Bruins fell again tonight in a shootout to the rival Canadiens. The team dropped their 9th straight and fell to 1-9-3 in their last 13. The Bruins can't catch a break as superstar Ilya Kovalchuk, the team's most recent trade target, was dealt from Atlanta to New Jersey tonight.

Despite a 2-0 lead established on goals by Mark Recchi (11) and Blake Wheeler (13), Tuukka Rask surrendered two goals in 39 seconds in the second period. After a scoreless third period and overtime, Krejci, Ryder, and Savard each went without a goal in the shootout.

Yes, the Bruins picked up a point, but they have lost for basically a month straight. They sit at 12th in the conference with 55 points, but amazingly are only two points out of the 8th seed. The Bruins have made it clear that they are not sacrificing the future and trading any of the picks received for Phil Kessel, so if the Bruins are going to turn this thing around it's going to have to be with this bunch.
