After a dramatic 2-1 Game 7 between the #1 Caps and the #8 Canadiens, it was the underdogs from Montreal that took down the powerhouse from Washington. For once, Bruins fans were eagerly chanting for Montreal tonight, and here's why:
As a result of Montreal advancing to the next round, the Bruins will now play the Flyers instead of the dangerous Penguins. The B's will avoid Crosby, Malkin, and Fleury and instead face the banged-up boys from Philadelphia.
With Simon Gagne and Jeff Carter both sidelined by foot injuries, the two teams will both be playing a few down. Marc Savard makes his triumphant return to the ice for this series, but veterans Dennis Seidenberg and Mark Stuart will both miss this series.
Thanks to all top three seeds going down in the first round, the Bruins will have home ice advantage for the second round against Philly. Here's the schedule:
Saturday, May 1 at Boston, 12:30 p.m. NBC, TSN
Monday, May 3 at Boston, 7 p.m. TSN, VERSUS
