Bruins Lose to Force Game 7

Our worst fears have come to reality. The impostors that beat the Sabres and that that jumped out to a 3-0 lead on the Flyers are gone. The regular season Bruins have returned.

Simone Gagne has returned for the Flyers and he has changed the fortune for their squad and their offense has clicked. David Krejci, injured and out for the playoffs, is gone and the Bruins offense is again stagnant since then.

Yes, the Bruins outshot the Flyers tonight 31-27, but the Bruins had only a few good scoring opportunities in their 2-1 loss. The B's were unable to get to Philadelphia goaltender Michael Leighton who hasn't started in two months and started his first playoff game tonight.

History may be upon us; bad history that is. Of the three major North American sports, only three teams have blown 3-0 leads in best of seven series. The 2004 Yankees, when our beloved Red Sox rallied behind Dave Roberts en route to the World Series victory. The other two are from generations ago in the NHL: the 1942 Red Wings and the 1975 Penguins.

Game 7 is Friday night at 7:00PM, The winner will get home ice versus the Montreal Canadiens who upset the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight on the road in game 7.

No one expected the Bruins with all of the injuries and the lack of deadline moves to make a push for the Eastern Conference Finals, but it will be heartbreaking to see this team blow what looked like a commanding 3-0 lead.
