Bruins center David Krejci will miss the rest of the 2010 playoffs after suffering a dislocated wrist last night. Krejci took a brutal hit just minutes into the game and he did not return. There were reports of a concussion or even a separated shoulder, but the Bruins confirmed today that it was indeed an injury to the wrist.
Yet another injury for this Bruins squad that just got back center Marc Savard. Luckily for the B's they have centerman Patrice Bergeron, Vladimir Sobotka, Steve Begin, and Savard to man the middle from a depth standpoint.
However, the team will miss the nifty and talented Krejci, who is a young leader on this squad. He already had eight playoff points (four goals, four assists) which was good for third on the squad. Not to mention, he lead the B's in regular season points with 52 (17 goals, 35 assists).
The team's quest for the Cup just got tougher. Coach Claude Julien will have to rally the troops like he has all season long. With a 3-0 lead in the series against the Flyers, the Bruins are just one win away from a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. Wrapping up this series early would give the team ample practice time to realign their shifts.
