Red Sox Offense Continues to Surge

Behind Lowell and Drew's 16th home runs and a little help from some poor White Sox defense, the Red Sox put up a 12-spot to win 12-8. Pedroia added two doubles to put him at 40 on the season too, and Alex Gonzalez continues to stay hot going 3-4 at the bottom of the order with three runs scored. The lineup is really clicking right now, and everyone seems to feel more comfortable in their respective spots in the order.

Clay Buchholz had a bit of a hiccup last night, as he failed to complete five frames. Giving up nine hits and three walks in 4 2/3 IP, Clay yielded seven earned runs. The rest of the pitchers combined to give up one run in 4 1/3 innings (Bard gave up yet another run and appears to be wearing down). Ramon Ramirez, who immidiately relieved Clay and went an inning and two-thirds picked up his seventh win in relief and Oki picked up his 23rd hold. Papelbon finished off the four-run game. Hopefully Buchholz can right the ship in his next start against the Jays because it appeared as if he was on the way.
