Patriots and Red Sox News

PATRIOTS:

-Jerod Mayo has a sprained MCL. Some reports have said he could be out 6-8 weeks, while others are saying it could be less than that. Gary Guyton will wear the defensive headset and man the MLB position apparently while Mayo is out. While Guyton is fast, he was beat on Monday night, but with a full week of practice as 'the man' on the inside, he could be used differently.
-Will the Patriots take a look at veteran free agent LB Derrick Brooks with Mayo out? He could help fill the void.
-Tom Brady was named AFC player of the week.

RED SOX:

-Youk's back is still acting up and Kotchman will start at 1B tonight.
-V-Mart is still in Cleveland and there's no word when he will be back. Tek will catch again tonight.
-Wakefield's back is still an issue, although if he holds off any kind of surgery until later Francona said it won't affect him being ready for spring training next year.
