Red Sox Win in Rain Shortened Game

A monster third inning last night. Three consecutive RBI singles by V-Mart, Youk, and Ortiz, a wild pitch that scored a run, an RBI double by A-Gon, then a RBI single by Ellsbury to finish the inning. When all was said and done, the Sox put up eight runs in the frame. Youkilis later added a homer.

Beckett got credit for a complete game, throwing five innings of one run ball. He only had to throw 78 pitches, and it was a good for him to have an abbreviated outing. Hopefully this is the beginning on JB getting back on track.

MORE:

I am watching two TVs right now (the Sox and two NFL games rotating). Quick notes about the Sox.

Today's day-game lineup:

Ellsbury CF
Pedroia 2B
Martinez C
Youkilis 3B
Bay DH
Kotchman 1B
Baldelli RF
Reddick LF
Green SS

Look for Ortiz, Tek, A-Gon, Lowell to play in the night game.

-Francona admitted today that he slept at the park in his office last night. He said he was preparing for the upcoming Angels series. Gotta love it.
