The Celtics added Tyronn Lue to their coaching staff today. He now dawns the title "Director of Basketball Development." The 32-year old journeyman played sparingly for the Magic last year before deciding to hang them up. He played under Doc in Orlando several years ago.
Two things come from this addition:
- His experience can't hurt young guards Rajon Rondo and Lester Hudson. He also may help Marquis Daniels' transition to point guard, teaching him how to be the floor general of the second unit.
- Also an interesting possibility is Lue being an "insurance policy" in case the team is ever in an injury predicament.
- Big Baby didn't play in the last preseason game due to back issues, but he'll be ready for the season opener Tuesday.
- Brian Scalabrine (ankle) and Tony Allen (knee) will not be ready for the start of the season.
- Kevin Garnett when asked about his knee answered, "Next question." Moments later, "I just told you. That shit is getting old, now. That shit's getting real old. You're going to have to sit in your offices and come up with some new questions. Drink a little more beer now or whatever gets you going to come up with your questions." How much more reassurance do we need that "The Big Ticket" is back? Garnett looks to prove all his doubters wrong as the Celtics open the season Tuesday at 7:30 against LeBron & the Cleveland Cavaliers.
62-20. Sheed, Garnett, Pierce, Rondo all-stars. We coming to embarass Foron.
