This and That
RED SOX
Not only did the Sox lose Assistant GM Jed Hoyer yesterday, but today they lost bench coach aka "friend of the manager" Brad Mills. Mills got the managerial position with the Astros today after three interviews with the club. Good luck to Mills in the NL with the Houston organization.
Jason Bay's agent Joe Urbon is already advertising Bay as the "most complete player on the market." Comments like those don't bode well for a home-town discount.
CELTICS
More Glen Davis news. He reportedly fractured his thumb when he got into a fight with an old high school friend over a girl. The fight took place in an SUV and both players emerged with bloody noses. Pretty bone-headed of the immature Davis. The thumb injury is on his right (shooting) hand, and he underwent surgery today; his estimated timetable of return is 6-8 weeks.
Malcontent Owner Wyc Grousbeck plans to sit down with Davis to determine appropriate punishment. The 23-year old, who just signed a two-year, $6 million deal this offseason has released a statement apologizing to everyone for the incident.
BRUINS
Forward Daniel Paille, who was acquired by the Bruins in a trade with the Sabres on Oct. 20, was absent from practice today. Paille went back to Buffalo to pick up the rest of his personal items as he has been living from a suitcase since his arrival. Talk about dedication to the team!
The Bruins prepare for their matchup against the 6-3 New Jersey Devils on Thursday night at home.
PATRIOTS
We will have a special feature for the team while they enjoy their bye week to be posted later this week.
