I thought about copying last night's post. These two games were insanely similar and demoralizing.
Anaheim took down Boston again in Game 2 of the ALDS on the shoulders of Jered Weaver, who went 7 1/3 innings giving up one run. The offense was anemic again, and we now have a total of 8 hits and 1 run in two games; can't expect any kind of results with those numbers. Have we run into two amazing starts? Or is our offense really this bad right now?
Beckett pitched well tonight. He looked like the Beckett of old through the first six innings with a low pitch count and allowing very few base-runners. However, he lost the zone in the seventh when the Angels went for two walks, two stolen bases, and two big hits to break the 1-1 tie and get the lead. Pitching has been enough to keep us in games, but the offense is nowhere to be found.

The Sox head to Fenway Park where the offense is always at its best. Sunday's game 3 will feature Clay Buchholz vs. Scott Kazmir. Despite Kazmir's career numbers against Boston he could be exactly what they need to get the win. The Sox have struggled because Lackey and Weaver have thrown lots of strikes early in the count, keeping Boston from working counts, running up pitches thrown, and feasting on a weak bullpen. Kazmir's been known to be wild, so if history serves them well the Sox could be in for a treat Sunday.
We've done it before - we can do it again! Don't lose the faith... DA
