Another Bruins Shootout and a Win

The Bruins continue to win as they squeaked out another last night, winning by the score 4-3 in yet another shootout thriller against the Ottawa Senators. The team has now won five of their last six games and continue to ascend in the Eastern Conference standings and now sit in first place in the Northeast Division.

G Tim Thomas, making his first start since being sidelined six games with a hand injury, let up two early goals to the Sens but then gained his bearings and settled down. The Bruins scored an incredible three powerplay goals by three different players: a dangle by Krejci, a screened shot from the point by Wideman, & a snipe from Ryder.

With the Bruins up 3-2 deep into the third period, Ottawa puled the goalie and the Bruins missed two opportunities to sink empty net goals and put the game away. Then, with only 20 seconds remaining, the Sens' Milan Michalek tied the score at 3-3 and sent the B's into yet another OT matchup.

The game was still tied after extra time concluded forcing another shootout for a hungry B's team. There was only one goal scored in the shootout and it was by Boston's Michael Ryder (only 2-14 in his career coming in) and he has really come on over the course of the last few games.

Three Stars of the Game: 1) David Krejci 2) Daniel Alfredsson (OTT) and 3) Michael Ryder.

The Bruins have a bit of a break as their next game is Wednesday night when they host the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:00.
