Celtics Pick Up a Win in Miami

Good teams finish strong and that's what the Celtics did tonight as they took down the Heat 92-85. The Celtics finished the game on a 14-3 run to put the icing on the cake. In their first game of a three game road trip (7 of the next 8 on the road) the Celtics can take this win and turn it into some positive momentum moving forward.
  • An athletic and agile Kevin Garnett led the team tonight with 24 points on 11 of 12 shooting from the field. The Big Ticket is a remarkable 17 for his last 18 shots. He moved well tonight and went up in down the court very fluidly in nearly 35 minutes of action as Michael Beasley and Jermaine O'Neal could not stop him.
  • Kendrick Perkins was very efficient down low with 14 points, 13 boards, and 3 blocks. He was 4-6 from the floor but it would be nice to see him hit his free throws with more consistency (6 of 11).
  • The Heat could not contain Rajon Rondo as he got anywhere he wanted with his dribble, including numerous bursts to the hole on his way to 13 points and 11 assists.
  • Ray Allen, who was questionable for this game because of the health of his diabetic son, hit just 1 of 7 from downtown. He did make 4 of his 6 2-pt attempts and played a team-high 42 minutes.
  • Pierce was a bit off tonight with 15 points on a low shooting percentage and turning the ball over 5 times, but hit his free throws late and he stepped up defensively tonight with 2 steals and a block.
  • The bench, comprised of House, Sheed, Daniels, Williams, and Scal only chipped in 12 points tonight.
  • The Celtics are still frustrated by an inability to sink the deep ball (5-21) but luckily Miami was even worse shooting 2-15 from downtown.
The 13-4 Celtics play in Charlotte on Tuesday night versus a 7-9 Bobcats team that is riding a four game winning streak. The last time the two teams met the Celtics held the Bobcats to a ridiculous 59 points.
