Celtics Defeat Bucks

KG is on fire.

After a few days off, the Celtics picked up their eighth straight win tonight against a young and athletic Bucks club. The Celts were in control all night, but let the Bucks hang around until half way through the 4th quarter when they finally pulled away to defeat Milwaukee 98-89. Tonight, like many of the games over this winning streak, Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett stepped up and led the way.
  • Rondo had 11 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists (1 turnover), and 5 steals. He stepped up in the fourth quarter where he scored all 11 of his points, and helped the C's pull away late.
  • KG continues his blazing hot shooting, hitting 9-13 tonight on his way to 25 points. He added 9 rebounds and 2 steals, showing no signs of any lingering knee pain.
  • Four other C's hit double figures including Pierce and Perkins (15 each), as well as Ray Ray and Sheed (13).
  • Tony Allen returned for the first time this season and filled in for Marquis Daniels (out - wrist). Allen was rusty, missing both of his free throws and turning the ball over twice.
  • The C's shot 52% from the floor and held the Bucks to a measly 43%.
The Celtics (17-4) head back out on the road for three games after an extremely brief one night homestand. The Celtics will take on 7-12 Washington Thursday night as the Wizards look to snap their two-game losing streak.

UPDATE: Daniels will have an MRI on his wrist and thumb and will miss the next two games and most likely at least the entire road trip. Hopefully it's not more...

  1. Would have been nice to see Rondo get one more rebound for a triple double! DA
