In the midst of the Olympic break, it's clear that the Boston Bruins and GM Peter Chiarelli have been busy in an attempt to upgrade the defense.
According to Real GM's sources here, the team may already have a deal in place to acquire a new defenseman.
Among the name's being mentioned are:
D Dan Hamhuis, Nashville
D Aaron Ward, Carolina
D Joe Corvo, Carolina
If the Bruins are able to pull off a deal for one of the players mentioned above, it would go a long way towards solidifying their defense and improving their playoff chances. The rumored deal makes sense considering the Bruins have been actively seeking a deal for a defenseman for a few weeks now, and it sounds like we should have a resolution shortly after the Olympic Break.
