The Bruins have announced that they have signed D Andrew Ference to a three-year, $6.75 million dollar extension through the 2013-2014 season. This is Ference's fourth year with the Bruins and it is good to know that the solid defenseman will be in the fold as the team continues to grow over the next several seasons.
The Bruins originally picked up Ference along with Chuck Kobasew in a trade with the Calgary Flames back in 2007, sending Brad Stuart, Wayne Primeau, and a 4th round draft choice.
The 31-year old defenseman has 24 goals, 117 assists, and 141 points in 10 NHL seasons.
