Bruins and Celtics Win on Monday

The Bruins took care of business on their home ice by winning 3-2 and taking a 2-0 series lead. Milan Lucic nailed the game winning goal at 17:03 and stepped up in a spot where they really needed him. Tuukka Rask did his part stopping 24 of 26 shots. The B's head to Philly as they hope to steal at least one on the road Wednesday or Friday.

The C's came out firing after the half tonight and dominated the Cavs 31-12 in the third quarter on their way to a 104-86 victory. Rajon Rondo lead the attack dishing out a remarkable 19 assists as the C's had six players in double figures.

Keys to the win:
  • The three ball went in for the Celtics as they hit 9 of their 19 attempts including three by both Ray Allen and Rasheed Wallace.
  • Sheed stepped up with 17 points off of the bench after Doc Rivers called out their prized free agent acquisition.
  • They held the Cavs to 40% shooting from the floor and halted their three point attack to a measly 4 of 21 (19%).
  • The C's, a poor rebounding team, out-rebounded the Cavs 43-32.
Remarkably, the C's nearly blew a 25 point fourth quarter lead when they allowed the Cavs to go on a 15-0 run, but they were able to hold on and steal one on the road in a tough Cleveland environment. The Celtics blew a late eleven point lead on Saturday night and this is not a good trend for the C's.

None-the-less, it was good to see the Celtics split on the road as they head home for a Friday night game after a three day layoff. Hopefully they can take care of business on the home court.
