Despite blowing a couple of two goal leads, the Bruins held on this afternoon to take down the Flyers. The B's jumped out to a 2-0 lead and then a commanding 3-1 lead in the 3rd, but this game needed to be decided in overtime. In his first time on the ice for the Bruins since the vicious hit he took on March 7th, Marc Savard played hero as he sniped the game winning goal 13:52 into overtime. The B's uncharacteristically gave up two power play goals to the Flyers after not allowing any in their first series and they will need to cut down those scoring opportunities for Philly next game.
The Celtics were up 11 in the fourth quarter and it seemed feasible that they could steal a game on the road. However, Paul Pierce hit just one of his final twelve attempts from the floor as the Cavaliers crawled back into the game. The Cavs outscored the Celtics 58-39 in the second half as Rajon Rondo cooled off (just eight of his 27 points came after the intermission) as the Cavs defended him much better and did not allow him to penetrate to the basket. The C's really blew a golden opportunity tonight.
