Peter Gammons to Join NESN

NESN, the official network of the Boston Red Sox, received a great upgrade to their already solid coverage team this week. Peter Gammons has decided to leave ESPN after 20 years so he could focus more of his time on baseball.

Gammons will be on pre and post game shows for the team for at least 50 games as well as contribute frequently to Red Sox programming. He will also be featured on MLB Network regularly and will work on baseball documentaries for their channel.

It is very exciting to have the 64-year old Hall of Famer's unmatched baseball knowledge, analysis and opinions on NESN. His passion for the Red Sox is well known and we will have the benefit of seeing a lot more Peter Gammons in the future.

Tedy Bruschi to ESPN

You read that right, the personable, jubilant, and knowledgeable Bruschi will be joining the world-wide leader in sports and is an obvious fit. He reportedly will be featured on NFL Live and SportsCenter. Bruschi marks the second Patriot retiree to join the TV world this offseason, as Rodney Harrison will be working for NBC before their Sunday Night Football broadcast.

-The Patriots' seven-man practice squad is complete. Late camp cuts DT Titus Adams, DT Darryl Richard, and WR Terrance Nunn will rejoin the squad. Newbies OT Patrick Brown, DL Adrian Grady, QB Isaiah Stanback, and CB DeAngelo Willingham.
-Richard Seymour is 'angry' about the trade and has yet to report to Oakland. Can you blame him? From a professional standpoint, he does need to get there and show the attitude he used here and what it takes to be a winner. It's not our problem though.

One of my favorite websites for all things Boston sports media is Fangsbites.bostonsportsmedia.com. As I was reading it today and catching up on my Boston sports news, I came across a very interesting story about ESPN's plans to launch a Boston-specific site. As you will read, they will have quite the personnel writing for them including recently added Mike Reiss who does a superb job covering the Patriots for the Globe. Also contributing will be Boston-rooted and ESPN regulars Peter Gammons, Michael Smith, and Bill Simmons. Looking forward to September 14th!
