Bruins Drop 4th Straight

`Things got chippy late between the rivals.

Another loss for the Bruins last night. A night after a shootout versus the Blackhawks, the Bruins could not take down the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs and lost by the score of 2-0. After putting a beat down on Toronto twice in the past two weeks by a total of 12-2, the Leafs played inspired hockey as they skated circles around the B's.
  • Tuukka Rask, who many have been calling for to see more time, started in net. With a 0-0 game in the second, he gave up a weak goal to Tomas Kaberle. The shot bounced off the post and then off Rask's pad into the net. He stoned 29 of 31 shots and kept the B's in the game until he gave up another goal halfway through the third. However, if the team doesn't score any goals, they don't have much of a chance to win anyhow.
  • With the defense banged up, Zdeno Chara and Andrew Ference continue to play major minutes. Morris and Wideman sat out again, and the younger and less experienced defenseman, some of which have just been called up, are being asked to play instead.
  • Marc Savard continued his lackluster play. The B's need the recently signed Savy to get back into a groove.
  • The Bruins penalty kill continues to play well well and they held Toronto to no goals on 5 attempts. They were first in the NHL in killing the PP coming in at 86.4% and added to that last night.
  • Phil Kessel has 0 points in three games versus the Bruins this year. The Bruins received a 1st and 2nd rounder in 2010 and a 1st rounder in 2011 for Kessel.
The Bruins will try and put it all together on Monday at division rival Ottawa. The Sens now lead the B's by a point in the Northeast division.
