Bruins Out-Shoot Thrashers

The Bruins picked up their second win in three nights last night when the offense stepped up against an improved Atlanta team in a 6-4 win. Storming out of the gate, the B's scored 3 goals (Savard, Paille, Sobotka) in 1:08 midway through the first period. Savy's goal was on the power play and later in the game Chara and Ryder would add goals with the man advantage. On the night the Bruins were 3-5 on the PP, and they held Atlanta to 0-3 on their chances with an extra skater. Patrice Bergeron was put home an empty netter at the end of the game for good measure.

Tim Thomas
started in goal again, and he picked up the win due to the offensive help. Spotted a 3-0 lead, he let the Thrashers back in the game in the first. Thomas continues to battle, while taking a step forward and a step back. Hopefully he can demonstrate some consistency soon.

Good to see the offensive outburst from the B's tonight, as their D has been carrying them on most nights. After an 0-2-2 stretch, the B's have won 2 straight games heading into their short holiday break and sit only 3 points back of idle Buffalo. They play next on Sunday at Florida to begin a stretch of 4 games in 6 days which includes the anticipated Winter Classic game at Fenway.
