Reversal: Sox rout Yanks 14-1

Junichi Tazawa
tossed a beauty, limiting the red-hot Yankees to one run over six innings of work. Lowering his ERA to 3.57, Tazawa stuck out two, walked two, and scattered eight hits.

The bats were all over AJ Burnett today. The middle of the order did the bulk of the work. Pedroia (3-4 2 2B, 3 R), V-Mart (2-3, RBI, 3 R), Youkilis (3-5 2 HR, 2B, 6 RBI, 2 R), Ortiz (2-4, HR, 2B, 3 RBIs, 2 R) did the damage for the Sox offense. Alex Gonzalez also added a bomb.

This rivalry never ceases to amaze me. Last night's blowout loss had no affect on the team coming into the game tonight, and you have to credit the toughness of the coaches and players in the Red Sox clubhouse. Big rubber-game tomorrow night, as the Sox behind Josh Beckett look to win the series as they take on CC.

UPDATE:

LHP Billy Wagner has said he would waive his no-trade clause to come to the Red Sox. The Mets have until Tuesday to pull him off of waivers, trade him to the Red Sox, or let the Red Sox have him and the remainder of his salary.
