Texas edged the Sox 4-3 today. Two more solo home-runs today (Ortiz and Pedroia), but these need to turn into two or three-run bombs. Tazawa gave up 10 hits and three walks in five innings and was continuously working out of jams.
If the season ended today, the Boston Red Sox would not be in the postseason and quite frankly they don't deserve it.
The season, however, is not over and the problem can be easily fixed. The Sox are getting Youkilis back from his suspension (who we desperately missed), and hopefully JD 'Nancy' Drew can suck it up and play threw his groin injury. As much as I don't like JD, the Red Sox need him because it pushes Brian Anderson to the bench and really extends the lineup. With the likes of Tek and Gonzalez at the bottom on most nights, they need more depth to the lineup.
A day off tomorrow then three in Toronto before the big series versus the Yanks at home.
