This and That

CELTICS:

-Finally, Marquis Daniels is set to join the C's. The Pacers and Celtics could not find a third team to facilitate a sign and trade. Daniels will solidify backing up Pierce and Allen and will be added to a loaded bench that includes Sheed, Baby, House, and hopefully a more healthy and polished Tony Allen.

PATRIOTS:

-Today' retirement press-conference:
  • Bruschi: 'I think of everything I ever wanted to achieve in this game, and I achieved those goals'
  • Belichick: 'No player that epitomizes what a player should be on the field and off the field.. in every situation'
-The Patriots placed WR/KR Brandon Tate on the non-football injury list. Tate tore his ACL and MCL while playing at UNC last season. The Patriots took him in this past year's draft knowing about the injury. We probably will not see the speedster him until next year.
-In similar news, recently resigned OT Mark LeVoir was placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. He will miss atleast the first six weeks of the season. The Pats are deep behind Light and Kazcur for now with rookie Sebastian Vollmer and thick Ryan O'Callaghan.
-The LS competition is over. The Pats released veteran Nathan Hodel which clears the way for the rookie out of Hawaii, Jake Ingram.
