Taking on the Rays for Three

Tuesday 7:08 NESN Lester (10-7, 3.60 ERA) vs. Sonnanstine (6-7, 6.61 ERA)
Wednesday 7:08 NESN Beckett (14-5, 3.80 ERA) vs. Garza (7-9, 3.95 ERA)
Thursday 7:08 NESN Buchholz (3-3, 4.38 ERA) vs. Price (7-6, 4.63 ERA)

GAME 1

This appears to be the gimmie of this set. Lester is fresh after two extra days of rest as he takes on the recently recalled Sonnanstine. It will be Sonnanstine's first big league action since June 25th.

GAME 2

There is a chance Tazawa could be recalled and start this game which would push everyone back. Beckett's ERA has gone from 3.10 to 3.80 over his last three starts; he will look to right the ship. Garza has been inconsistent all year and gave up six earned runs in his last start against the Tigers.

GAME 3

Besides the occasional clunkers (August 2nd and 24th), Buchholz has been on this month. After his last start he said he is "starting to become a pitcher." Perhaps he is ready to settle in for the long haul. With Wake's back a question the rest of the way, we need the young Buc. Price has pitched well of late, and his last start against us in the beginning of August he held us to two runs in six innings.

MORE:

-The Sox are four up on the Rangers and five up on the Rays heading into this series.
-The last several years the Sox have been owned by the Rays down at the Trop, but hopefully the team will continue to play good ball.
-Brady Penny cleared waivers and signed with the San Fran Giants. He'll probably dominate over in the NL (see John Smoltz). It's OK though, we have Paul Byrd lol.
-Look for some roster additions for the Sox today and throughout the month as minor league seasons rap up.

UPDATE:

-Sox called up OFs Brian Anderson and Joey Gathright, IF Chris Woodward, and activated C George Kottara.. Expect to see Lowrie, Tazawa and others shortly.

My computer is bugging hard and I will be sending it in for repair tomorrow. I will try and post what I can when I can using other computers. Bare with me please, as I expect to find trouble being consistent the next 7-10 days.
